I’m delighted to have been at the Steelworks to launch the UK Government’s Steel Strategy.
The Business Secretary Peter Kyle MP, First Minister Eluned Morgan, Welsh Secretary Jo Stevens MP, Minister for Industry Chris McDonald and our MS David Rees were all with me – illustrating the enormous potential of our steel industry.
We’re celebrating new protections to stop Welsh steel being undercut by other countries dumping their product on the UK, and new plans to get more Welsh steel used in UK infrastructure projects.
Steel is an industry of the future, and utterly critical to our security and prosperity.
