It was a privilege to speak at the launch of Thrive Domestic Abuse Services “Now I See It, This Isn’t Love” campaign.

Too often, controlling and abusive behaviours in young people’s relationships are mistaken for care or affection. This important campaign helps young people recognise the early warning signs of unhealthy relationships, challenge harmful myths, and understand what healthy, respectful relationships should look like.

Every young person deserves to feel safe, valued and respected. By having these conversations early, we can help prevent abuse before it starts and ensure young people know where to turn for support.

Thank you to Thrive and everyone involved for leading this vital work in our communities.

If you or someone you know is affected by domestic abuse, support is available. You can contact Thrive Domestic Abuse Services for local advice and support, or the Live Fear Free Helpline on 0808 80 10 800, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also text 07860 077333 or access support online at www.gov.wales/live-fear-free. No one should face abuse alone.
