It was a pleasure to join pupils from Cwmafan Primary School for a question-and-answer session and discuss my role as their Member of Parliament.
Before the Q&A, Patrick Dean, Senior Education and Engagement Outreach Officer for Wales from the UK Parliament, delivered an engaging presentation explaining how Parliament works, the roles of the House of Commons and House of Lords, elections, and how laws are made.
I then had the opportunity to speak with pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6, answering their thoughtful and insightful questions about my work as an MP, the issues affecting our local area, and how people can get involved in democracy.
I was impressed by the enthusiasm, curiosity and knowledge shown by the pupils, and I would like to thank Patrick and the staff at Cwmafan Primary School for organising such an enjoyable and informative session.
