It was a privilege to attend Aberafan Shopping Centre’s VE Day street party today, to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

The event started with a veteran’s march through the centre, followed by a flag raising ceremony and the street party, along with some really moving speeches.

VE Day is a time to remember and honour the courage and sacrifice of all those who served, as well as the millions who lost their lives during the conflict.

As we reflect on this historic day, we give thanks for those who fought for the freedom we enjoy, and reaffirm our commitment to remembering the past and working toward a more peaceful future.
