I addressed an online rally of almost 100 PCS Union members at the DVLA in Swansea who are taking strike action for the second time in as many months as their employer is insisting they come into their office rather than work from home during the pandemic.
Strike action is always a last resort but staff at the DVLA, including many from my Aberavon constituency, have been left with no other option.
It was an honour to speak at the rally today where PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka confirmed tens of thousands of pounds has now been donated to the strike fund by unions and individuals.
This is about human decency and I and my fellow Welsh Labour MPs Christina Rees MP Tonia Antoniazzi MP Geraint Davies Carolyn Harris MP and Nia Griffith MP stand in solidarity with the hard working staff at the DVLA whose lives have been put at risk by the appalling behaviour of their employer.
